I’m a data scientist helping to use and promote reproducible data science. I development my knowledge of working with data and coding in academic research. I studied how Mycobacterium bovis, a bacteria that causes bovine tuberculosis, is transmitted between cattle and wildlife using pathogen genomics.

Since working in academia, I progressed into data scientist positions in the Office for National Statistics where I worked in International Development, helping to promote the value and impact of data science and build reproducible data science capability in national statistics offices around the world.

Coming full circle, I’m now working in University Services in the Higher Education setting. I use reproducible data science to work with student and staff data to support University processes and strategic decisions.

Data science is such an important space for me, providing continual opportunities to learn, have impact in my work, and help others develop their capabilities.
